Diwali Night 2019

Diwali is the Indian festival of lights, symbolizing the victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance. which is traditionally celebrated all over the Indian subcontinent during the fall. The SDSM&T India Club has endeavored to share this cultural celebration with the Rapid City community through an annual event held at the School of Mines. Diwali Night 2019 marks the 30th year celebration of this event which is put together by SD Mines students.

The event comprises cultural performances by students, and the local Indian community, often including a Bollywood dance, and performances by the International Student Inc. band. Last year, the tiny tots stole the show with their awesome fashion ensemble.

And let's not forget the fireworks show, a highlight of the evening. Staying true to tradition, the evening ends with some delectable and authentic Indian food!

This year, Diwali Night is being organised on 23rd November. By supporting us through this fundraiser, you help us continue this tradition, sharing our culture with a wider audience. To quench your nostalgia and curiosity, a few candid shots of celebrations past can be found here.
